“Not as much anymore. I’m a grown man. We live together because it works, but I could move out on my own any time. That means taking care of myself.”

“Oh, I didn’t mean anything by it,” she said, dipping her chin. I reached out and lifted it.

“I know you didn’t, and she would if I asked her to, but then again, that’s what moms do. They take care of their kids and some love to do it even when we’re all grown up. Let me get in the shower now before I forget that you’re hurt.” I kicked off my boots and removed my socks before dropping my jeans and boxers. I turned on the jets to cold because I needed it against my skin. It was freezing and the urge to roar was growing. I wanted to make her mine in every way. I didn’t do anything but turn up the temperature though. It was smarter for me to wash this way. In five minutes, I was wrapping a towel around my waist and scooping my little Goldilocks in my arms. She gasped, then pressed her hand to my chest. The appreciative look on her face, as well as her soft body against mine, did away the effects of the cold shower.
